Macey was born on February 22nd, 2019. At six months, the vet suggested we have her spayed. We scheduled the procedure and took her in. The vet called to let us know everything went perfectly and that she was awake and doing great. Spring Creek Animal Hospital kept her overnight, checked her again the next morning, and sent her home sporting a plastic cone. I suspect Darla will add some “bling” around the edges, but for now the cone has a layer of tape to keep her from scratching the furniture.
Macey weighed in at 46.2 lbs on the day of her surgery (Aug. 20). This photo shows some of her adult fur that has been filling in over her fluffy baby fur.
I had expected her to be miserable with the cone, but it doesn’t really seem to bother her.
The vet told us to keep the cone on her for 10-14 days and “try” to keep her from getting too wild and active. She pushed her skateboard today, but didn’t ride it.
Check Back on this page. I am sure I’ll be adding a few more cone head shots!
