On Thanksgiving Day of 2018, we took Zeffy, our wonderful 12 year old Golden Retriever, to the vet for the last time. Plenty of tears were shed that day. We all felt the void of our loving pet.
In early April of 2019, we began our search for a puppy. Of course, it HAD TO BE a Golden Retriever! Mandy, our first Golden was light colored. Zeffy was darker red. To differentiate a new puppy from our previous family members, we were hoping to find a white one. Along the way, I found out about English Cream Golden Retrievers. They are beautiful!
I found Macey on PuppyFind.com. Green Valley Kennels has proven track record of breeding Golden Retrievers and Goldendoodles for 30 years. Macey would be available to be picked up on April 17th. Perfect! (Macey is the little female white puppy on the right). Our oldest son, Tyler, drove out from Denver to pick her up on the first available date.
Tyler and Laura cuddled with Macey for the first two days. Macey was the center of their life for a too short period of a time. This photo was taken at a kickball game in Denver.
Tyler met us at the Skateboard Park in Laramie, WY on Friday afternoon. I took this photo as Macey posed with Tyler and Darla.
Darla and I headed back to Rock Springs for the night, then headed onward to Jackson Hole the next morning. Macey’s a tiny lover. She crawled over to my lap and helped me drive back to Jackson Hole.
I pulled over in the Hoback Canyon to let Macey experience snow for the first time. She loved it!
Corey was waiting for us when we returned home with our newest family member. Smiles were an essential part of the day!
