Macey was born on February 22nd. We picked her up in Laramie on the 19th of April. She’s learning quickly and growing way too fast!
Darla took this shot with her iPhone on April 28th. Macey has two speeds: Full Speed and Off.

Early Skateboard Training Video.
Trick Progress:(after 9 days)
- She learned to “Sit” almost immediately
- Macey learned to catch a rope toy in her mouth a day or so later. She now catches mini Milk Bones.
- We hung a Christmas bell at about her nose height on the back door and on the door on my upstairs office. She now noses the bell to let us know she wants (or needs) to go outside.
- On the first day in Laramie, we put her on a skateboard and pushed it. She stayed on until it stopped. After some practice, she now gets on the skateboard on her own and can turn around on it with no problems. She now goes directly to the skateboard and sits on it waiting for more tricks.
- In one day, she learned to “Pound It” (raise her left front paw to do a high-five). She is now shaking with her right paw. It’s pretty amazing to see such a small puppy doing “High Five”.
- Macey is working on her “Sit Pretty” trick. She’s not that steady, but getting better each day.
- Still working on “Bang” and “Belly Up” on demand. She goes belly up on her own often.
- We are working on Sit and Stay. Good progress, but the Stay part is just beginning to soak in.
- I took her for a walk to the Post Office and back. The “Heal” command should be working by the next couple of trips. She is very inquisitive and interested in the strange smells along the way. If I stop and tell her to Sit at a cross road, he sits nicely.
- Without a doubt, Macey is a retriever. She chases down a thrown toy and brings it back.
- We put her in her sleeping kennel each night at 10:30 pm or so, and other than the first night, she is good until 6:00 am.
We’ve been training Macey to let us know when she wants to go outside. She jingles one of two Christmas bells we have placed at two important doors in the house.

BANG! On the 2nd of May, Macey learned how to roll over to her side when I point my right hand like a gun, then say “BANG!”. She is now doing “High Five” and “Shake” with little or no treats. Treats help!
